Man U keeper credits I-pod for Carling Cup win over SpursLondon, Mar. 2 : Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster has given credit to his I-pod for the team's victory against Tottenham Hotspurs in the Carling Cup final on Sunday.

The Sun quoted the England stopper as saying: "Just before the shootout I was looking at an I-pod with goalkeeping coach Eric Steele. On it were images of Spurs taking penalties. I'd been told if O'Hara took a kick that he would probably go to my left. It was great that was exactly what happened and I managed to get a hand to it."

Liverpool’s chances now bleak, says Benitez

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez London, Mar. 1 : Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has admitted that his hopes holding up the English Premier League championship trophy for the first time in 19 years has been shattered after his squad crashed to a 0-2 defeat against Middlesbrough.

"Before the game it was very difficult, after the game it is more difficult," The Sun quoted Benitez, as saying.

Benitez has now pitted his hopes on the `must win' game against Sunderland this coming Tuesday.

He also hinted that Manchester United's chances of winning the title were brighter now.

Fergie dismisses talk of going for quadruple

London, Mar. 1 : Sir Alex Ferguson has dismissed all talk of a Manchester United quadruple, insisting he would willingly settle for just one trophy this season - the Champions League.

The United boss and his star-studded squad are back on familiar territory today, stepping out at Wembley to face Spurs in the Carling Cup final.

But on the eve of a game that could be the start of a unique quadruple, which would also encompass the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup, Ferguson made his startling confession.

'It's not about football, Nor is it about parsis'

As French football star Zinedine Zidane, or Zizou, came to Bangladesh in 2006, he had no clue the visit would inspire an entire film. But that's exactly what happened. Taraporevala wrote a script around it and the result is Little Zizou.

"The film's about a 11-year-old football-crazy boy called Zerxes, who refers to himself as little Zizou and Zidane as big Zizou. When Zidane visits Bangladesh, Zerxes prays to his deceased mother to bring the football star to the country," says Taraporevala, and quickly clarifies the film is not really about football as such.

I'm clicking my way to SA, what about you?

I've often dreamt of watching a football World Cup final inside a heaving stadium. The dream is a little more elaborate actually — I am sitting just behind the dugout, within hi-fiving distance of the players. It's a Brazil versus Argentina final. As the teams walk out on to the pitch, Ronaldinho turns around to wave at me. I wave back, furiously, with both hands. Then begins the most spectacular game of football the world has ever witnessed. There's a flurry of goals and Brazil wins. At the final whistle, I do my own 'Dairy Milk girl dance' and run on to the pitch. There's a swirl of yellow, green and a lot of bald heads as I do the lap of honour. Oh, I even speak Portuguese in the dream.

SHODDY MUMBAI

SHODDY MUMBAIIt took only one moment of indecision by Mumbai FC goalkeeper Kalyan Chaubey to allow a rusty Air India to snatch a point and keep themselves floating above the relegation zone after a 17th round I-League encounter at Cooperage on Saturday.

Mumbai FC were cruising 1-0 until the 63rd minute when Chaubey failed to commit himself to Michael Tayo's ball from long range. The cross into the Mumbai FC box caught him in double minds and Emanuelle Ovieghara's soft header put the ball past Chaubey to restore parity for the airmen.
