Terror strike toll rises to over 100, injured toll 110; encounters still on

Mumbai, Nov. 27 : Over a hundred people have been killed in a series of well-coordinated terrorist attacks in Mumbai late on Wednesday night.

Television and print media reports said that the planned and synchronised terror strikes had left at least 110 people injured, some of who were in serious condition in the city''s various hospitals. The places attacked included the Trident Hotel, the Taj Hotel, Wadi Bunder, Cama hospital, GT Hospital, Victoria Terminus station, Bootleggers pub, Girgaum and Metro cinema.

Manmohan Singh likely to address nation in wake of Mumbai blasts

Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan SinghNew Delhi, Nov. 27: The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, is expected to address the nation in a couple of hours from now in the wake of Wednesday's night's planned and synchronised terror strikes in Mumbai, which left at least 100 people dead and over 200 injured.

Sources in the Prime Minister's Office were quoted by NDTV as saying that Dr. Singh would address the nation, but only after it was confirmed that the operation to nab the terrorists behind the attacks was over.

England team sources said that they would take advice from their country’s foreign ministry whether to continue their tour, or immediately cancel it.

China delayed the summit that had been planned for Monday in Lyon, France, because the atmosphere for it was poor and it would not achieve its expected goals, Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang said Wednesday night, according to a report in the official Xinhua news agency.
