The Exorcist Still Rules As The Most Disturbing Film Of All Time
Hollywood has given some extraordinary horror movies, which have made viewers shiver sitting in the theaters. But till today, the horror classic The Exorcist rules the genre, even after 37 years of its release. In a poll conducted by the DVD rental and streaming service `Lovefilm', the 1973 movie has turned out to be the most disturbing film of all time.
Directed by William Friedkin, the movie concentrates on the 12 year old child Regan MacNeil, played by Linda Blair, who can rotate her head 360 degrees. She is the daughter of an actress in the movie.
The movie has taken the top spot beating the other big horror movies like Saw and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
The second position in this line was taken by the 1971 movie A Clockwork Orange, directed by Stanley Kubrick. The psychological thriller Saw was got the third position. Other films in the top 10 list, includes movies like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre in fourth position, Requiem For A Dream in the fifth position, Irreversible is on sixth, seventh place is taken by Se7en, Event Horizon is on eighth, The Blair Witch Project on ninth and the Antichrist is on the 10th position.
