Zardari, Fahim on terrorist hit list, warns Pakistan Interior Ministry Cell

Asif Ali Zardari & Makhdoom Amin FahimLahore, Mar 1 : A crisis management cell operating under Pakistan’s Interior Ministry has warned that PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, party’s Vice-chairman Makhdoom Amin Fahim, and former federal minister Sheikh Rashid are on terrorists’ hit list.

Notably, Amin Fahim is the front runner in the race for Pakistan premiership.

In a letter the National Crisis Management Cell (NCMC) said that in this connection a number of suicide bombers have been dispatched by the terrorists.

However, which group the terrorists belong to is not known.

Cautioning the leaders against allowing strangers to get close to them, the NCMC ordered that a "security circle" be maintained whenever they (targeted politicians) go outside or attend public meetings, added the paper.

The Cell also said that it has directed all four provincial home secretaries and police officers to take immediate necessary steps to safeguard the targeted political personalities, reported the Daily Times.

Besides, the Home Department has dispatched instructions to regional, capital city, city and district police officials, as well as the Acting Inspector General of Police of the Punjab province. The directive urges the police officials to ensure that all the targeted politicians are given foolproof security arrangements so that the attackers do not succeed in their nefarious designs. (ANI)
