“Zardari didn’t restore judges because his personal agenda overrode national agenda”

Asif Ali Zardari & Makhdoom Amin FahimLahore, Sept 4 : PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardrai failed to fulfill his “Murree Declaration” promise of restoring the deposed Supreme Court judges because his “personal agenda overrode the national agenda”, said PML-leader and former premier Nawaz Sharif.

He said by restoration of the removed judges he (Nawaz) wanted to correct all the wrongs done by the dictators, and throw out all the amendments to the constitution.

“We wanted to put the country back on the rails, correct all the wrongs done by the dictators. We wanted to throw out all the amendments to the constitution that were brought in by the dictators. In fact, we wanted to examine military intervention in politics for all times to come. This was the real agenda ... What I would say here is that there was a personal agenda which became more important than the national agenda,” the Daily Times quoted him a saying.

He said this while talking to a group of foreign reporters about his party’s withdrawal from the ruling alliance. (ANI)
