Volkswagen’s 2025 ID.7 to be available in U.S. in both RWD & AWD trims

The automotive industry recently buzzed with excitement as German automobile giant Volkswagen (VW) unveiled its roadmap for the highly anticipated 2025 ID.7 model in the United States. Set to join the VW ID.4 lineup in the latter half of 2024, the 2025 ID.7 electric model stands as a near-luxury sedan, promising to redefine electric mobility with its state-of-the-art features and versatile trims.

Setting a new standard in the electric vehicle segment, the German automaker will make the VW ID.7 available in two distinctive trims, viz. the Pro S and Pro S Plus, with each of these trims offering a unique blend of luxury and performance. With a singular 82 kilowatt-hour (kW) battery option and two powertrain configurations (rear-wheel drive and dual-motor, all-wheel drive), the ID.7 electric sedan presents a total of four enticing variants to consumers.

The allure of the ID.7 lies not just in its advanced technology but also in its outstanding range capabilities. While accurate pricing and EPA range estimates for the EV in question are yet to be unveiled, European counterparts boast an impressive WLTP range of up to 386 miles on a single charge, with expectations of approx. 300 miles in the United States, predominantly for the RWD version. Furthermore, with potential starting prices below $60,000, the new EV offers unparalleled value in the EV market.

When it comes to performance, EV enthusiasts will delight in the AWD version that comes equipped with VW’s latest APP 550 drive unit, which is capable of accelerating from 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in merely 6.5 seconds. Its top speed has been reported at 112 mph.

Inside the cabin, the ID.7 Pro S trim of the electric sedan boasts a wide array of luxurious features. The long list includes a 15-inch infotainment display, augmented reality (AR) head-up display, and twelve-way adjustable heated front seats with massage and memory functionalities. Furthermore, safety is paramount, with VW’s “IQ. DRIVE” advanced driver assistance technology, Park Distance Control, Area View, and Park Assist Plus with Memory Parking features come standard across all trims.

For those seeking a higher experience, the Pro S Plus trim offers additional augmentations, such as 20-inch wheels, dynamic steering, and DCC adaptive damping, complemented by premium massage Climatronic seats and a 700-watt Harman Kardon sound system. In short, the VW ID.7 epitomizes the brand's commitment to innovation and sustainability, offering consumers a glimpse into the future of mobility.
