Greenply Industries Share Price Target at Rs 345: Axis Securities
Axis Securities has issued a BUY call on Greenply Industries under its Axis PUNCH product, setting a target price of Rs 345 against a current market price of Rs 314, an upside of about 10% over three to six months. The brokerage expects revenue to rise about 15.6% year on year in the September quarter, powered by double-digit plywood volume growth and market-share gains from unorganised rivals. MDF demand stays robust, with management guiding for 25-30% volume growth and margins of 16-17%. Net debt of Rs 533 Crore and a net debt-to-equity ratio of 0.57x leave room to fund expansion.

Greenply Industries: Axis Securities Lays a BUY on Plywood Volumes and an MDF Ramp
A short-horizon trade built on three layers: faster plywood growth, a second MDF line coming into its own and a balance sheet that still has headroom below management's leverage ceiling.
The Call, Board by Board
Axis Securities placed Greenply Industries on its Axis PUNCH list on Oct. 14, 2026, a product reserved for high-conviction ideas meant to deliver 10% or more within three to six months. The stock closed at Rs 314 that day, uncomfortably close to its 52-week high of Rs 334 and nearly 80% above its low of Rs 176. The brokerage's target of Rs 345 therefore asks the shares to break into fresh territory, a demand that rests on earnings delivery rather than on any rerating story.
Greenply makes and trades plywood and blockboards, doors, speciality plywood, PVC products, decorative veneers, medium-density fibreboard and furniture hardware. With 12.5 Crore shares in issue, it carries a market value of roughly Rs 3,946 Crore.

Two Product Spec Sheets
The thesis splits neatly into Greenply's two engines. Read them the way a contractor reads a catalogue: what each delivers, at what margin and with what catalyst.
Plywood is the volume story. Axis expects double-digit volume growth to carry the September quarter, and argues that a larger, better-utilised base will lift plywood margins as the year unfolds. Sustained demand and the steady migration of buyers from unbranded to branded boards give the segment a structural tailwind rather than a cyclical one.
MDF is the margin story. Management has held its 25-30% volume guidance, and the brokerage sees EBITDA margins staying at 16-17%, potentially widening to 17-18% once the second line reaches efficient scale. The successful start of the HDF flooring line, one of the three ticks in Axis's "Why Greenply" box, opens a higher-value adjacency.
Earnings, Plank by Plank
The real argument sits in the profit line. After a flat FY26, Axis forecasts net profit nearly doubling over two years, which is what drags the price-to-earnings multiple from the low 40s toward 20.

Revenue is projected to climb from Rs 2,739 Crore in FY26 to Rs 3,531 Crore by FY28, or about 13-14% a year, while EBITDA margin edges up from 9.9% to roughly 10.5%. Earnings per share would more than double from Rs 7.2 to Rs 15.9, and return on equity would recover from 10.0% to 15.9%.

Editor's Note
EV/EBITDA moves the wrong way. The table shows the multiple rising from 12.2x in FY26 to 16.5x in FY27E and 17.1x in FY28E, even as EBITDA grows and leverage falls back to 0.50x by FY28. Using the printed market value of about Rs 3,946 Crore plus net debt of Rs 533 Crore, TopNews estimates the multiple nearer 13.8x on FY27E and 12.1x on FY28E EBITDA. The P/E column, by contrast, ties to the CMP and EPS. We reproduce the brokerage's figures unchanged.
Upside sits on the rating line. Rs 345 is 9.9% above Rs 314, which Axis rounds to 10%. The report's own rating scale defines BUY as more than 10% over 12-18 months, though Axis says PUNCH ideas follow a separate three-to-six-month framework and may differ from its long-term calls.
Leverage Under the Ceiling
Expansion costs money, and Axis's third pillar is that Greenply is spending it with restraint. Net debt stood at Rs 533 Crore at the end of the last quarter, a net debt-to-equity ratio of 0.57x, comfortably below the 0.75x management has flagged as its peak. The brokerage's own FY27 estimate of 0.72x brushes that ceiling, which makes the subsequent fall to 0.50x worth watching.
Net debt to equity (x) vs management's 0.75x peak
Ceiling 0.75x
A second release valve is the planned dilution of Greenply's stake in the Samet joint venture, its furniture-hardware partnership. Axis expects this to lighten the capital burden on the parent and free headroom for growth spending without loosening the balance sheet.

Key risks, as printed by Axis Securities
Macroeconomic risk: a slowdown in housing and interiors spending would hit plywood demand first.
Regulatory risk: rules on timber and other inputs may disrupt raw-material sourcing.
Competition: rivals could chip away at the market share Greenply is winning.
The setting adds a practical caution. With the stock already within about 6% of its 52-week high, the trade leaves little cushion if the September quarter disappoints, so investors may prefer to build positions on dips rather than chase strength.
