India Post tie-up with ICICI Prudential

ICICI Prudential Mutual FundNew Delhi, Mar 4 : In yet another move to expand its basket of services, India Post has tied-up with ICICI Prudential for the collection of insurance premiums through Post Offices.

The service is now available at over 200 Post offices in Gujarat, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Maharashtra Postal Circles.

There will be no additional cost involved for the customer.

The premium amount realized will be sent to ICICI Prudential through the ePayment system of India Post.

Conference of births and deaths registrars to begin tomorrow

New Delhi, Mar 4 : The Annual National Conference of Chief Registrars of Births and Deaths will be held here tomorrow.

Chief Registrars of Births and Deaths from the States / Union Territories as well as Secretaries / Special Secretaries / Principal Secretaries overseeing the work of registration of births and deaths, besides representatives of Ministries of Health and Family Welfare, Women and Chief Development, Statistics and Programme Implementation, Planning Commission, UNICEF, Plan India and officials of the Registrar General, India and Directorates of Census Operations in the States / Union Territories will participate in the two-day conference.

A selection of contemporary film productions of nineteen European countries will be presented.

The film festival will be inaugurated tomorrow at Siri Fort Auditorium II in Delhi.

India to review security for Indian Premier League: JaiswalNew Delhi, Mar 4 : Union Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal on Wednesday said that Indian Government would review security for the Indian Premier League (IPL) following the attack on Sri Lankan cricket players in Pakistan.

"The two (elections and IPL) are going to take place around the same period. What has happened in Pakistan has also raised concerns. We don''t want to take any risk by being negligent," said Jaiswal.

India, Benin sign five agreements

India, Benin sign five agreementsNew Delhi, Mar 4 : India and the West African nation of Benin signed five agreements on Wednesday in the fields of small-scale industries, cultural and scientific cooperation and diplomatic exchange.

The agreements were signed after delegation level talks headed by the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and the visiting President of Benin, Boni Yayi.

New Delhi also offered Benin a liberalised line of credit for its developmental needs.

Earlier, Yayi was accorded a ceremonial reception at the Rashtrapati Bhawan.
