In this phase, polling will take place on April 30.

The states which will go to the polls are Bihar (11), Gujarat (26), Jammu and Kashmir (1), Karnataka (11), Madhya Pradesh (16), Maharashtra (10), Sikkim (1), Uttar Pradesh (15), West Bengal (14), Dadra and Nagar Haveli (1), Daman and Diu (1).

Delhi court to consider CBI’s report on Tytler''s involvement in 1984 anti-Sikh riotsNew Delhi, Apr 2: The Kakardooma Court will today consider the Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) final investigation report on former Union Minister Jagdish Tytler''s involvement in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case.

On March 28, the CBI filed the report in a sealed envelope before Metropolitan Magistrate Ram Lal Meena.

The CBI is reported to have said that there is no evidence against Tytler, sources said.

In his petition, Varun says that the use of NSA against him was an act of political witch hunting by his political opponents.

Chidambaram has urged all the state chiefs to cooperate with security agencies.

A Bench of Justices Altmas Kabir and H L Dattu delayed the hearing as the judgment of a Constitution Bench on the authenticity of the court ordering CBI probe is awaited in the first week of May.
