10 Pak security personnel killed in suicide attack in Waziristan

PakistanPeshawar, Sep 20 : At least 10 Pakistani security personnel have been killed and several others have been wounded when their convoy was targeted by a suicide bomber on Bannu Road in North Waziristan.

Sources said that the security forces convoy was targeted near the Essa check post on the Miranshah-Bannu Road, five kilometers away from Miranshah.

They further said that the security forces caravan was on its way to Miranshah from Bannu, when suicide bomber rammed his explosive laden vehicle with the convoy, which left two vehicles of the security forces destroyed with over 20 personnel on board.

Pak security forces gun down 19 more militants in Bajaur AgencyPeshawar, Sept 14 : After eliminating more than 70 terrorists yesterday in the Bajaur Agency, the Pakistani security forces today claimed to have killed 19 more militants in the tribal area.

According to The News, security forces conducted air attacks on militant hideouts in various parts of the Agency.

Jet planes and gun-ship helicopters were used in the attacks that inflicted heavy casualties on the militants in Tang Khatta, Shakai and Lowi Sam areas of the Agency, added the paper.

Pak Army claims killing 100 militants in Bajaur

BajaurPeshawar, Sep 12: Pakistani troops killed up to 100 militants in a restive northwestern tribal area near the Afghan border after the rebels ambushed a security patrol, a security official has said.

“We launched strikes against militant hideouts in Bajaur and destroyed several compounds they were using,” the official told reporters.

“According to the latest information from the area, between 80 and 100 militants were killed,” the Daily Times quoted the official, as saying.
