Jabalpur/Vidisha (M.P.), Nov 22: Congress Party General Secretary Rahul Gandhi campaigned in Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday.

A local court of Madhya Pradesh has granted bail to Tourism Minister Tukoji Rao Pawar on Wednesday.

He was arrested for threatening and intimidating a lady returning officer.

Phoolchand Verma, who is also contesting with a BJP ticket was also granted bail. He was arrested in connection with the same case.

The two BJP leaders did not apply for bail on Tuesday and were taken to jail.

Both of them got bail after they furnished a security bond of Rs 5,000 each.

Bhopal, Nov 11 : Madhya Pradesh Tourism Minister Tukoji Rao has been arrested for allegedly misbehaving with a Returning Officer.

He was later sent to judicial custody till November 24. The Collector of Devas has also been transferred in connection with the incident.

The BJP candidate and royal scion of Dewas, Phool Chand Verma was also arrested and jailed in connection with the incident last Saturday.

It was a high political drama in full public, where Bhratiya Jan Shakti party (BJS) President Uma Bharati slapped a top party functionary, then kissed him on the forehead and later gave up food to atone for her loss of control, but eventually the party worker resigned from his post on Wednesday evening.

Cotton processors and traders have criticized the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) for higher cotton prices for this season. CCI is a government agency that deals with the purchase of cotton at minimum support price, fixed by the government. The processors are worried about the high price of Rs 2,850 a quintal and low profit due to competition and contractual processing of cotton.
