Beggars in Pak during Ramazan earn more than graduates may do in a year!Lahore, Sept 17 : During the ongoing month of Ramazan, an average professional beggar in Pakistan is earning Rs 1000 per day, and a family, depending upon the number of ‘earning members,’ collects Rs 4000-5000 a day.

If multiplied by the 30 days of Ramazan, the total income comes out to be around Rs 150,000, which is enough for the rest of the year to meet the family’s basic needs. The money earned during the Ramzan acts like fixed capital, even as the day to day expenses during the rest 11 months can be met by daily earnings.

Pak to claim agro-compensation from India for stopping water flow into Chenab River

India, PakistanLahore, Sept 16 : Pakistan has decided to claim compensation from India for the agriculture losses it suffered due to the stoppage of water flow by India into the Chenab River.

Pakistan’s Indus Water Commissioner Jamaat Ali Shah reportedly alleged that India had stopped Pakistan’s 200,000 acre-feet water from August 1 to September 12 to fill its Baglihar Dam lake in Kashmir.

He added that data relating to the previous record of water flow in Chenab had been provided to NESPAK (National Engineering Services Pakistan) to ascertain the loss arising out of the stoppage.

Pak tops list of countries in number of suicide bombing deaths

Lahore, Sept 15 : Pakistan tops the list of countries as far as the number of deaths in suicide bombings during the first eight months of the year is concerned, figures compiled by an elite intelligence agency have said.

From January till August, there were in all 28 suicide attacks in Pakistan which claimed more than 471 people and injured around 713. Both the dead and the injured included a large number of innocent civilians as well as the armed forces personnel.

Iraq stood second with 463 people killed in 42 suicide attacks, while Afghanistan was third with 436 people killed in 36 suicide attacks. In Iraq, a total of 527 persons were injured, while in Afghanistan a totalof 394 people were injured, reported The News.

US Army General warns Pak of “new war” if it does not step up against terrorists

United States, PakistanLahore, Sept 15 : The US forces deployed along the Pak-Afghan border are facing around 10,000 insurgents on the Pakistani side of the border, said a US commander manning around 19,000 troops in Afghanistan.

He warned that if Pakistan did not step up its fight against terrorists and let terrorists escaping into its territory, then a there was a risk of a new kind of war being broken in the Islamic country.

Pak Taliban take Peshswar govt building hostage, flee on security forces’ arrival

Lahore, Sept 14 : The Pakistan’s unit of the Taliban, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) made their presence felt in Peshawar city when around 100 of them took hostage a municipal building, though briefly, late last night.

The Taliban terrorists, who were said to be heavily armed, fled on the arrival of paramilitary troops without putting up a fight, the Daily Times quoted police sources as saying.

“We have vacated the building and freed the hostages but the militants have managed to escape,” said Peshawar Police Chief Sulaiman Shah.
