Security beefed up across Pak to trap six ''suicide bombers''

PakistanLahore, Sept 25 : Security has been beefed up in several parts of the country after intelligence agencies reported that as many as six suicide bombers had entered into major cities.

According to Interior Ministry sources, all the four provincial governments had been informed about possible strikes by these bombers in Karachi, Faisalabad, Peshawar, Multan, Lahore and Islamabad.

Meanwhile, 15 people were arrested from Rawalpindi on terror charges.

Marriott attackers “Fidayeen-e-Islam” threaten to attack all US facilitators in Pak

Marriott Hotel, PakistanLahore, Sept 25: The Fidayeen-e-Islam (FI), a terrorist outfit which claimed responsibility for the Marriott Hotel suicide blast in Islamabad last Saturday killing 60 people, has reportedly threatened to target every person facilitating the US Army in Pakistan.

In a message received by an Arab TV office in Islamabad, the FI rejected the Pentagon’s claim that only two US marines had been killed in the Marriott blast, reported the Daily Times.

“Once bitten twice shy” Pak security forces follow truck’s suspicious movement

PakistanLahore, Sept 23 : After Saturday’s suicide attack at a five-star hotel in Islamabad triggered by a truck full of explosives, Pakistani security forces have turned “once bitten twice shy”.

Last evening, heavy contingents of police were deployed at and around The Mall after the police emergency service received a call regarding ‘suspicious movement’ of a mini-truck at the road.

The emergency service “Rescue 15” disseminated the information through wireless about the ‘suspicious movements’ of the green mini-truck bearing a Karachi license plate JY-3870 on The Mall near the Pearl Continental Hotel.

NWFP Governor warns suicide bombers shifting their base to Punjab

Lahore, Sept 23 : Militants in tribal areas in the NWFP have firmly set up their network in the Punjab province and young boys were being recruited from there, warned NWFP Governor Owais Ghani.

He said that Punjab was fast turning into a hotbed for terrorists.

“Militants in the tribal areas of the NWFP have established firm networking (with jihadi groups) in southern Punjab and most fresh recruits for suicide attacks are coming from there. Militant leaders and commanders are also coming from Punjab. The militants’ field commander in Swat too is from Punjab,” the Dawn quoted Ghani as saying at a press conference.
