Curfew relaxed in Kashmir ValleySrinagar, Aug 30: Curfew was relaxed in several parts of the Kashmir Valley on Saturday as normal life remained paralysed in response to the continuing shutdown over the Amarnath land transfer issue.

The curfew had been imposed for 14 hours in Kulgam district and for three hours in Budgam district. It was also clamped in Kulgam and Khudwani towns and eight other districts of the Valley, including Srinagar, Anantnag, Pulwama, Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora, Ganderbal and Shopian.

In Srinagar, curfew was relaxed in areas falling under 28 police stations of the city for two hours from 11:00 a. m.

Three killed in clahes in Kashmir ValleyJammu, Aug 29 : Talks between a Jammu and Kashmir Governor’s panel and Amarnath Sangharsh Samiti was put off for the second consecutive day on Friday as the normal life remained paralysed in the Jammu region in response to the continuing bandh over the issue.

“The meeting has again been deferred today in view of the illness of Chairman of the Governor''s panel and Adviser S S Bloeria,” Sri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti
(SAYSS) spokesperson Narinder Singh said.

Army launches massive search operation in Jammu

Jammu & KashmirJammu, Aug 29 : Army today launched a massive combing operation on the outskirts of Jammu following reports of the presence of two militants in the area.

A woman informed police about the presence of two suspected militants in police uniforms in Ratnuchak forest area on the outskirts of the Jammu city in the afternoon, police said.

Soon after getting the information, troops of 26 Infantry Div, along with police, cordoned off the entire area and Special Operation Group launched a massive search operation, they said.

Shutdown affects normal life in Jammu

March to nowhere in Jammu and KashmirJammu, Aug 29 : Normal life was affected here on Friday by the closure of shops, markets and commercial establishments in the wake of a shutdown call given by the Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangarsh Samiti (SAYSS).

Vehicular traffic also came to a grinding halt, traffic on the national highway between Lakhanpur and the Jawahar Tunnel was plying normally, sources said.

Amarnath Sangharsh Samiti to meet Governor’s panel today

Jammu and KashmirJammu, Aug 29: The fourth round of talks between Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti (SASS) and the panel appointed by the Jammu and Kashmir Governor headed by SS Bloeria will be held here today.

The talks, which were scheduled for Thursday, could not take place due the minor illness of Bloeria, who is leading the government side in the talks.

The samiti had earlier held three rounds of talks with the panel on August 23, but the talks remained inconclusive.

Amarnath Sangharsh Samiti to meet Governor’s panel on Aug. 29

Jammu, Aug 28 : The fourth round of talks between Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti (SASS) and the panel appointed by the Jammu and Kashmir Governor headed by SS Bloeria has been postponed and is likely to be held on Friday.

According to an official spokesman due to the minor illness of the committee’s chief SS Bloeria the meeting has been rescheduled on Friday (August 29).

Earlier, the Convenor of SASS Leela Karan Sharma has received invitation from the Governor''s panel for fourth round of talks to be held at a Guest House here around
1630 hours, Samiti''s spokesperson Narinder Singh said.
