Hepatitis B death toll in Gujarat rises to 60Sabarkantha (Gujarat), Mar 2 : The Hepatitis B death toll in Gujarat has risen to 60, with four more deaths reported on Monday.

A Sabarkantha District health official said: “Four people have lost their lives on Monday, taking the number of deaths due to hepatitis infection to 60.”

There have been several new cases reported, taking the total number of cases registered to over 184, off which 60 have died.

Most of the diseased have been reported from Sabarkantha District.

Indian share markets dip by over 3 per cent

The Bombay Stock Exchange's 30-share sensitive index, Sensex, closed at 8607.08 points, about 3.2 per cent below its previous close.

The National Stock Exchange's broader 50-share Nifty ended at 2674.60 points, also 3.22 per cent below Friday's close.

Government data showed India's exports had declined an annual 15.9 per cent to 12.38 billion dollars in January, a fall for the fourth consecutive month due to the global slowdown.

Gujrat MapNew Delhi - A polling booth will be set up in the Gir forest of India's western Gujarat state for a single voter when general elections are held in April-May, an election official said Monday.

The polling station is located at Banej in Junagadh district in the Gir Forest, a national park which is home to the last of the Asiatic lions, India's Chief Election Commissioner N Gopalaswami said while announcing the schedule for general elections.

The lone voter in Banej was the priest of a temple located in the forest, Junagadh district collector Ashwin Kumar was quoted as saying by PTI news agency.
