Karunanidhi appeals to all parties for united stand on Tamil issueChennai, Feb. 6, : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on Friday appealed to all parties to speak in one voice and adopt a united stand on Sri Lankan Tamil issue.

The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) chief said a solution to the issues was elusive because of the infighting among Tamil groups in the Sri Lanka.

"There is no unanimity here also on the issue. If all of us remain united, the Tamil race in Sri Lanka will be saved," Karunanidhi said.

Protestors smash bus screens in strike-hit Tamil NaduChennai, Feb 4 : Protestors of various political parties, excluding the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), today smashed the window screens of some state-owned vehicles in strike-hit Tamil Nadu.

The strike was called to protest against the alleged killing of civilians in neighbouring Sri Lanka.

Police claimed that some unidentified persons had damaged windscreens of government buses in Coimbatore, Cuddalore, Tanjavur, Vellore, Dharmapuri, Tiruchirapalli, Dindigul and Tirunelveli. There were no reports of anyone being injured

Nagesh was suffering from diabetes and a heart ailment

He had acted in over 1000 films like Neer Kumizhi, Edhir Neechal, Server Sundaram, Aboorva Raagangal, Kadalika Neramilliai and Ooty Varai Uravu.

LTTE LogoChennai, Jan. 28 : The Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) criticized the Center over External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee''s visit to Colombo after the Sri Lankan army''s successful operation against the LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam).

Hundreds of MDMK activists took to streets here to protest against the Sri Lankan military's offensive against the Tamil rebels.
