Pakistani premier sacks national security adviser Islamabad - Pakistani Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Wednesday sacked the country's top security adviser, apparently for breaching protocol while making a statement on the nationality of the lone surviving Mumbai gunman.

National Security Adviser Mehmud Ali Durrani was quoted by several television news channels, including the India-based CNN-IBN, as saying that Ajmal Amir Qasab, the only attacker arrested in the Mumbai mayhem, was a Pakistani national.

US should help India, Pak resolve Kashmir issue: Gilani

In his interaction with Nowzari, Gilani said Pakistan has consistently and unequivocally offered unreserved support to the Palestinian cause and supports the establishment of an independent state of Palestine with Al Quds Sharif as its capital.

Gilani said that Pakistan was a peaceful nation that wanted good relations with neighbouring countries.

He was addressing the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) campus on Monday, reported.

He stressed that government would not allow any parallel power to run in the country, "No one would be allowed to use Pakistani soil for terror activities."

Yousuf Raja GilaniIslamabad, Dec. 27 : Amid rising international pressure, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that his country does not want a military confrontation with India.

''We don''t want to have aggression with our neighbours. We want to have friendly relations with our neighbours. I assure you once again that we will not act. We will only react," the Dawn quoted Gilani, as saying.

He was speaking at a special prayer ceremony to mark the first death anniversary of the former premier Benazir Bhutto. Bhutto was assasinated in a suicide attack while she was leaving an election campaign rally on 27 December 2007.
