Harsh, Sonam sweetly bonds at chat show

New Delhi [India], Oct. 4 : All of us have witnessed a well-bonded sister-brother banter at some point. Sonam Kapoor and Harshvardhan Kapoor relived one such moment at a recent chat show.

The chat show for Anupama Chopra's Film Companion shows the siblings open up about personal choices and decisions.

In the interview, the 'Khoobsurat' actress was seen asking her brother, "What is the one thing that you see me do, that you won't do?"

Harsh was quick to answer cheekily, "'Thank you' and 'Players'."

' Players' was a 2012 film directed by duo Abbas Mustan while ' Thank You' was a 2011 comedy film directed by Anees Bazmee.

Both the movies that featured Sonam Kapoor had bombed at the box office.

New Delhi [India], Oct. 4 : Sonam Kapoor may be one of the A-lister actresses in Bollywood, but she is not okay with what the female actors get compared to what the men get to make a film.

In an interview with Anupama Chopra for Film Companion, the 31-year-old fashionista opened up about the prevailing biasness toward men, saying, "There is a lot of sexism in the society which is disgusting."

The diva cited the example of fellow actors, John Abraham and Varun Dhawan and the kind of money they got to make 'Dishoom,' which she says is "way more than what Kareena and I were getting to make 'Veere Di Wedding.'"

I would love to be a comic actress, says Sonam Kapoor

Sonam KapoorNew Delhi, December 13 : Sonam Kapoor, who was recently spotted promoting her upcoming movie 'Dolly Ki Doli' in Mumbai, has said that she would love to be a comic actress.

Speaking at the event, the 29-year old actress said, "I would love to be a comic actress since it's one of the toughest genre and most difficult genre to do".

Kapoor will be seen playing the role of a con woman in the her latest flick.

'Khoobsurat' earns Rs 3 crores in opening weekend at Pakistani box office

KhoobsuratKarachi, Sep 23 : 'Khoobsurat' has earned Rs 3 crores in its opening weekend at the Pakistani box office , it has been reported.

The film marks the Bollywood debut of Pakistani television star, Fawad Khan, and it was released on 46 screens across Pakistan, the Express Tribune reported.

Amjad Rasheed, owner of IMGC Entertainment, said that this was the first time this has ever happened because no Pakistani film has ever made Rs1 crore on a non-holiday weekday.

It was previously reported that ' Khoobsurat' had comprehensively beaten the Yash Raj Films produced 'Daawat-e-Ishq' in advanced bookings in cinemas in Pakistan.

Girls will relate to my 'Khoobsurat' character: Sonam Kapoor

Sonam KapoorNew Delhi - Actress Sonam Kapoor says her character in upcoming film 'Khoobsurat' represents the independent, modern woman and is confident that girls will identify with it.

'Khoobsurat', also starring Pakistani actor Fawad Khan and actress-politician Kirron Kher, is the remake of Hrishikesh Mukherjee's 1980 film of the same name. Sonam reprises the character played by Rekha in the original.

"Mili is a woman of today. She is strong and independent and does not change herself for any man. Every modern day girl will relate to her. I am sure at least 85 per cent of women will identify with Mili," Sonam told reporters here.

Music launch of 'Khoobsurat' held in Mumbai

Keeping in tone with the fun and groovy music of their upcoming film, Sonam and Fawad were seen in a party mood at the launch.

Sonam looked drop dead gorgeous in a black crop top with a floral printed flared skirt and black jacket. Hair braided from one side, black printed heels, and a pink lip completed her look.

Fawad looked as handsome as ever in a grey suit paired perfectly with a black shirt.

I'm a selfish actor, says Sonam Kapoor

"It's just a matter of taking each day and enjoying my work, and saying that I am a selfish actor. I will do the best I can with this role," the 29-year- old actress said.

Known for her high-style quotient, the "Raanjhanaa" actress said: "I have realised that a lot of people say a lot of things about me on the same show. On every show someone has said something about me."

Sonam's 'Khoobsurat' to release Sep 19

Sonam-KapoorMumbai, April 30 : Sonam Kapoor starrer "Khoobsurat", a remake of Hrishikesh Mukherjee's 1980 romantic comedy of the same name, will release Sep 19 this year.

Co-produced by Disney India and Anil Kapoor Film Company, the fun drama will see Sonam in the lead role of Mili, a vivacious girl who turns the lives of a royal family upside down.

"Disney India's 'Khoobsurat', a wholesome family entertainer produced in association with Anil Kapoor Film Company, will release on Sep 19," said a statement released by Disney India.

Sonam-KapoorMumbai, April 4 : Actress Sonam Kapoor attracted many fans in Nashik when she came to the city to shoot "Dolly Ki Doli". She loved the experience.

The shooting of "Dolly Ki Doli", Arbaaz Khan's new production, began on the auspicious occasion of Gudi Padwa, a New Year festival celebrated in Maharashtra.

A source from the film's unit said: "To flag off the shoot, the entire unit decided to visit the famous Infant Jesus shrine in Nashik to seek blessings. On hearing this, lots of fans gathered at the spot and refused to leave without seeing the fashionista."

Salman is hot: Sonam Kapoor

Sonam-KapoorMumbai, March 31 : Actress Sonam Kapoor, who had teamed up with Salman Khan in her debut movie “Saawariya”, will work with him once again in Sooraj Barjatya's next directorial. She praised the superstar as “hot” and said the film will be “double dhamaal”.

Sonam told IANS: "He is hot. It's double 'dhamaal' with Salman since he is in double role. I am super excited to work with him. I am not allowed to talk about it. You will see. He is looking good in the film."

The film will be directed by Sooraj Barjatya.

Happy with my work in 'Bewakoofiyaan': Sonam Kapoor

Sonam-KapoorMumbai, March 19 : Yash Raj Films' "Bewakoofiyaan" may not have been received well but its lead actress Sonam is happy with her work in the romantic comedy.

"I am happy with the response to the film. If you get critical acclaim, it does not translate into box office success," Sonam told reporters here Tuesday at the launch of a ghazal album.

"There is not much you can do if it does average (business)... but I am happy with my work," she added.

Released March 14, the film has reportedly managed to earn a little above Rs. 9 crore.

Sonam Kapoor will be seen playing the happy-go-lucky girl, essayed by Rekha with elan in the earlier Hrishikesh Mukherjee directed family entertainer.

This year Sonam had two back-to-back hits -- Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's super-successful biopic "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" and Anand L. Rai's "Raanjhanaa".

"I watch a lot of films. It's my chosen vocation to be an actor, so if I don't watch movies, it's like not doing 'riyaaz' everyday or belittling my art," the 28-year-old told reporters at the ongoing 15th Mumbai Film Festival.

"I like to watch as many films as I can," she added.

Sonam persuades dad to socialise online

Sonam-KapoorMumbai, Sep 26 : Sonam Kapoor, who is active on social networking websites, wants her father Anil Kapoor to do the same.

Anil recently joined microblogging website Twitter and now Sonam is coaxing her father to join Facebook as well as Instagram.

"When '24' came along, it gave Anil a reason to be more interactive with his audience. So much so that he finally gave in to the social media wagon... This time Sonam is on a mission to coax her dad to get him on Facebook and Instagram," said a source close the actress.
