Mammootty to start shooting for 'The King and The Commissioner'

MammoottyKochi, June 12 : "The King and The Commissioner", billed as one of the biggest projects in the Malayalam film industry, has been creating a buzz because of the big names attached to it. But superstar Mammootty, who will start shooting for the film here Monday, is not so excited and says for him, it's just a job.

The film has been in the news because it has brought two big actors - Mammootty and Suresh Gopi - together as also it sees director Shaji Kailas collaborating with scriptwriter Renji Panicker after a gap of 16 years.

Kerala rival fronts have 50-50 chance: Mammootty

MammoottyThiruvananthapuram, March 25 : He has been chairman of the CPI-M-backed Kairali TV channel since its inception in the mid-90s. Nevertheless veteran superstar Mammootty believes Kerala's rival fronts have an equal chance in next month's assembly polls.

"It is going to be a 50-50 chance because everything is unpredictable and the scenario is changing by the day," Mammootty told IANS over phone from Hyderabad, where he is shooting for his latest film "1993 Bombay March 12".

Kerala goes to the polls April 13 to elect 140 legislators.

Mammootty’s 'Mathilukalkkappuram' To Launch On March 1

MammoottySuperstar Mammootty is going to start his first project under his production house ‘Playhouse’, which will be producing Mathilukalkkappuram, a sequel to the 1990 movie Mathilukal. Mammootty starred in the earlier movie and he will also be seen in the sequel.

Speaking about the latest venture, Mammootty said that they are going to launch the movie on March 1. He said that he had a great year in 2010 with many hit films and awards and is now looking forward to a grand start of his production house in 2011.

I'm like a hard working farmer: MammoottyThiruvananthapuram, Oct 19 - Malayalam superstar Mammootty compares himself to a "hard working farmer" who just cares about his work and hopes for the best.

"I am like a farmer. A farmer always works hard in his field and his only prayer is that his crop should be a bumper one. Similarly, I always put in my very best and then wait hopefully like the farmer," Mammootty told IANS in an interview on the sets of his latest movie "August 15".

The film is being shot at the plush Technopark campus here.

Shooting For Mathilukalkkappuram To Start By November

MammoottyMalayalam film megastar, Mammootty, will start shooting for his next project Mathilukalkkappuram, by the end of this November. Nayantara will play the female lead in this movie.

This movie is a sequel of the National Award winning Malayalam movie Mathilukal, which was directed by Adoor Gopalakrishnan in 1989. This film is again an adaptation of a novel titled ‘Mathilukal’ by Vaikom Muhammad Basheer.

Shaji Kailash is making the film for Aroma international and is aiming to have a Christmas release. The film is likely to start shooting by the mid of October and most of the shots will be captures in and around the capital city.

Show organiser Asianet said "things were completely out of control" when more than 15,000 fans tried to crowd into a venue meant for half as many to watch the final episode of Mammootty The Best Actor Award 2009, The National reported Monday.    

Superstar Mammooty’s debut in Kannada

Mammootty to investigate murder for Palery Maanikyam in Paris

MammoottyMammootty’s upcoming flick Palery Maanikyam is based on the murder-investigation story that took place in the early seventies but now the makers of the flick is planning to give a new face lift to the film’s story track.

The news is doing the rounds that director Renjith and his crew is planning to shoot the first schedule of the flick in the beautiful city of Paris. Mammootty is playing the character of an investigator who is landing in Paris from the nation’s capital in order to probe the murder of a man named Manikyan.
