George Clooney, Tom Hanks discourage members of SAG from striking

George ClooneyWashington, Dec 16 : More than 130 Hollywood celebrities, including George Clooney and Tom Hanks have signed a letter discouraging members of the Screen Actors'' Guild (SAG) from striking.

The SAG wants to strike over what it sees as an unfair contract with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), reports Contactmusic.

Studios were alarmed by SAG''s public support for the striking Writers'' Guild of America (WGA) during their three-month industrial action.

However, with the economic climate uncertain, many high-profile actors are resolutely against a strike.

London, Dec 8 : ‘Out of Sight’ has been named as the ‘Sexiest Film Of All Time’ in a new poll.

The 1998 thriller, starring George Clooney and Jennifer Lopez, topped a list chosen by 100 actors, directors, critics and producers for an American magazine Entertainment Weekly.

The judges said Clooney and Lopez combined to make the ultimate "cinematic aphrodisiac".

"It made Clooney a major star and gave J-Lo her most well-rounded role to date. And thanks to director Steven Soderbergh, it features a number of scenes that belong in a sexy cinema hall of fame," the Telegraph quoted the judges, as saying.

DeGeneres’ semi-nude male dancers’ ploy fails to lure Clooney to her show

Washington, Dec 6 : Ellen DeGeneres seems to have taken Brad Pitt’s ‘Chippendales’ suggestions rather too seriously, for she actually sent the dancers to George Clooney’s office, say reports.

However, all her efforts went down the drain.

The practical joke was set up after Pitt told DeGeneres that a surefire way to secure an interview with Clooney on her show would be to lure him with Chippendales dancers, reports Contactmusic.

Therefore, Ellen, who desperately wanted to have Clooney on her show, sent semi-clad hunks to his office on December 5, according to insiders.

New York, Dec 6 : Looks like George Clooney has a soft corner for cocktail waitresses, for after ending a year-long romance with Sarah Larson, the actor is now fancying another waitress at a London bar.

According to reports, the 47-year-old actor, after dining with pal Matt Damon at Nobu, went to the London’s trendy Whiskey Mist especially to see the petite brunette working behind the bar.

The actor, who is still sporting an ill-advised moustache for his role in ‘Men Who Stare At Goats’, reportedly met the bartender the last time he was in London.

"George arrived at the bar at midnight and went straight to talk [to her]," The New York Daily News quoted an insider as telling the Sun.

George Clooney snubbed over directing ‘Frost/Nixon’

British writer Peter Morgan revealed that Hollywood heartthrob Clooney asked to direct the recent film version of his play.

But instead of picking ‘Michael Clayton’ star, Peter chose Ron Howard, who had success with films such as ‘Apollo 13’ and ‘A Beautiful Mind’.

And Morgan has admitted that he may end up regretting his decision.

"(Clooney) said things like, ''We are really going to kick a** with this,’” Contactmusic quoted him, as saying.
