Washington  - US President Barack Obama called on Chrysler LLC bondholders to make sacrifices in order to keep the nation's third largest automakers from filing for bankruptcy.

Obama, speaking at a town hall meeting in Arnold, Missouri, credited the autoworker unions for taking the necessary steps to help Chrysler avoid bankruptcy protection.

"One of the key questions now is: Are the bondholders, the lenders, the money people, are they willing to make sacrifices as well?" Obama said. "We don't know yet."

Washington  - US President Barack Obama marked 100 days in office by citing the progress his administration has made in tackling the nation's economic problems but cautioned that more needed to be done.

"Now, after a hundred days, I am pleased with the progress we've made, but im not satisfied," Obama said at a townhall meeting Wednesday in Arnold, Missouri.

Obama touted his massive economic recovery plan to rescue the United States from its worst recession in decades, brought on by the crisis in the housing and finance markets.

London - Amnesty International said Wednesday that the US administration of President Barack Obama has "failed to deliver" on human rights during its first 100 days in office. Marking the date with an assessment of Obama's policies, the London-based human rights organization said the US government had sent "mixed messages" on its counter-terrorism efforts and made "promises for change with only limited action."

The President showed he was an ace shooter during the game on April 27, after he praised the team for their undefeated season, and had a game with them on his small court on the South Lawn.

Washington, Apr. 29 : A furious President Barack Obama has ordered an internal investigation into a photo-op featuring the presidential jet that sent thousands of New Yorkers running for their lives.

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Tuesday Obama was "furious" when he heard about the incident and has ordered a deputy chief of staff of find out "why that decision was made and to ensure that it never happens again."

Washington - US President Barack Obama is asking Congress for an added 1.5 billion dollars to fight the swine flu outbreak that has spread to five US states, his spokesman said Tuesday. The money will be used to "enhance the nation's capability to stop the spread," including stockpiling anti-viral drugs and develop and "ramp up production" of a vaccine, said Robert Gibbs.

Gibbs dismissed the suggestion that the money request indicated a new level of concern by the White House. "In our opinion, this is about prudent planning," he said.
