Islamabad, Sep 1: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has urged the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and PML-Quaid to challenge the candidature of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari for the post of president.
The Daily Times quoted Khan as saying that Zardari does not qualify for the president’s office due to the corruption charges leveled against him and his health problems”.
Islamabad, Sep 1: A government in Pakistan that is formed on the basis of “national consensus”, is the only solution to all problems faced by the country, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman and presidential candidate Asif Ali Zardari, has said.
“A government of national consensus is the need of the hour and after my election as president, my party will work for political and national unity,” Daily Times quoted Zardari as saying.
Islamabad, Aug 31: Amid news reports that PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, who is running in the September 6 presidential polls, might continue to hold his party post after assuming the country’s top post till his son and party chief Bilawal Bhutto assumes the actual control of the party affairs, a senior PML-N leader has said that Zardari should resign after assuming presidency because the post was “non-partisan”.
Islamabad, Aug. 30 : Pakistan People’s Party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari is reportedly under the influence of a small group of close advisers, and they are preventing him from restoring Justice Iftikhar''s judiciary, party sources told The News.
According to the paper, the group has now adopted a novel strategy to get rid of unwanted judges.
Islamabad, Aug. 29 : The presidential candidate of Pakistan Muslim League (Q) Mushahid Hussain Syed has urged Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman, Asif Ali Zardari, to quit the race for the post of Pakistan president.
Talking to media persons outside parliament house, Mushahid Hussain said that president should be identified with the reference of Pakistan. I am ready to debate Asif Zardari.
