Lahore, Sept 2 : Fearing a strong action, including dissolution of Punjab Assembly after the September 6 Presidential poll, PML-N leader and former Pakistan premier Nawaz Sharif has said that the PPP should respect the PML-N’s mandate in Punjab the way the PML-N respected the PPP’s mandate at the Centre.
Islamabad, Sept 2 : In a surprising move, barely a few hours after the Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI), a pro-Taleban group, pledged its support for PPP’s presidential candidate Asif Ali Zardari, two radical madrassas that were closed over their links to terrorism, were allowed to resume activities by the Pakistani Government.
The move was an attempt to get an Islamic group to support Zardari in this week''s presidential election, reported timesonline. com.

The party has decided to keep all party members of the National Assembly (MNAs) and senators in Islamabad until D-day.
Pakistan Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Saturday held a meeting with top party leaders at PM House and discussed in detail the party strategy to get maximum votes for Zardari, The News reported.
Islamabad, September 1 : Asif Ali Zardari, the widower of slain former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, has sidelined almost all confidants of his wife.
According to the Times Online, Bhutto’s top advisers from her party, including her political secretary and closest friend, who cradled her as she died, have been sidelined.
Zardari took control of Bhutto’s Pakistan People’s party (PPP) shortly after her death and led it to an election victory, invoking her memory and capitalising on the public grief that followed her death.
