PML-N, PML-Q must challenge Zardari: Imran Khan
Islamabad, Sep 1: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has urged the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and PML-Quaid to challenge the candidature of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari for the post of president.
The Daily Times quoted Khan as saying that Zardari does not qualify for the president’s office due to the corruption charges leveled against him and his health problems”.
“The PML-N and the PML-Q should challenge the candidature of Zardari on the basis of corruption allegations and media reports about his health,” he added.
Khan said that his party would also move the court against Zardari once sacked Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry is reinstated, as the nation would never accept an ‘National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) President’.
He further said that Zardari would be acceptable to him if he reinstated Justice Chaudhry and other sacked judges and is cleared of his corruption cases that were withdrawn under the NRO.
Khan also announced a protest walk on September 5 from Islamabad Press Club to Parliament Lodges against Zardari. (ANI)
