Hackers attack data for ransom at two Southern Californian hospitals

Recently, two Southern California hospitals were asked money by hackers in return to give access to server after hacking the hospitals’ software. The computer system at both hospitals, Chino Valley Medical Center in Chino and Desert Valley Hospital of Victorville, were invaded by ransom-ware causing threat to hospitals’ data.

Both the hospitals are part of Prime Healthcare Services Inc. They lost hold on its computer system on Friday due to a cyber attack. The cases are currently being investigated by FBI. The hackers are believed to have penetrated the hospitals’ computer systems after getting access to one of the hospital’s computers. The hackers spread a malware program that encrypts the data on computers. The hackers demanded a ransom from hospitals to unlock the system.

H-E-B recalls canned Tuna sold from February 24 to March 16 in Texas

After recall of Bumble Bee Tuna and Tri-Union Sea-foods, H-E-B announced recall of canned tuna made in it’s a co-packing facility. The five-ounce product sold at H-E-B stores in Texas from February 24 to March 16 has reportedly caused no illness for now, but is recommended to be returned to stores for a full refund. There is likelihood that tuna is undercooked during the production process which led to the recall.

"These deviations were part of the commercial sterilization process and could result in contamination by spoilage organisms or pathogens, which could lead to life-threatening illness if consumed," the company said in a statement.

Vaccine scandal leads to arrest of 37 people in China

Illegal sale of vaccines worth nearly $90 million has been uncovered by Chinese police last week. The event led police to arrest 37 people who were involved in the scandal in Shandong, the eastern province and the centre of the scandal. The scandal revealed downside of the world's second-largest medicine market.

The scandal which was reported by official Xinhua news agency on Wednesday has spurred angry debate in China. This also shows China’s inability to regulate a widespread medicine supply chain. "This vaccine safety case has drawn close attention, and shows there are many gaps in terms of regulation," Premier Li Keqiang said in a statement on the central government's website.

Study finds blondes have higher IQ than those with other hair colors

A new study opposes all past rumors about blondes’ IQ by showing that flaxen-haired people are as intelligent as people with dark hair. The study involved a number of people who were given a test that would determine level of intelligence in the participants.

Ohio State University researchers studied 10,878 men and women to know if intelligence has any relation with hair color. For availing apt results, the participants were given the Armed Forces Qualification Test, an exam used by the Pentagon to determine intelligence of all recruits.
