Finally, the 30-share index, BSE Sensex closed the weak day below 20k at 19,865.14 after shedding 444.55 points (2.19%).

In the meantime, the broad based Nifty marked its closure after falling 132.90 points (2.17%) at 5,988.70.

McNally Bharat Engineering Co. Ltd (MBEL) reported Q2FY11 standalone YoY revenue growth of 30.5% to Rs4bn driven by increased order execution in the projects segment. OPM was flat at 5.4%. Lower interest cost and higher other income resulted in PAT growth of 128% to Rs96.6mn. The H1FY11 performance of McNally Sayaji was subdued as sales grew by mere 1% and PAT de-grew by 40%. Given the healthy order backlog and positive economic prospects, we remain positive on the long term prospects of the company and maintain our BUY recommendation with a revised target price of Rs340 (12x FY12E)

Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has decided to conduct a placement drive for recruiting more scientists in the defense sector.

The Ministry of Defence reported that about 1,582 scientists had moved to other sectors from DRDO between the year 2006 and 2010.

The reason behind this trend is that scientists want to gain experience in DRDO.

Moreover, the high salary packages offered by private research companies attract them.

According to reports, the members of state cabinet will discuss the issue of circle rates for the city's colonies on Wednesday.

The small quarrel between Lt Governor Tejendra Khanna and Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit over the matter will now be looked upon by the Home Ministry.

Both the sides had refused to answer the questions, when asked by reporters over announcing the new rates.

"I will not comment over the issue," Dikshit said at a function.
