Brussels [Belgium], Oct. 27 : Dr. Charles Tannock, Member of the European Parliament ( MEP) for the United Kingdom (U.K.) and Conservative Party's spokesman for Foreign Affairs, has criticised Pakistan and the Jamaat-e-Islami (JEI) for their role in the atrocities committed in 1971- during Bangladesh's struggle for freedom from Pakistan - and expressed full support to the country's International War Crime Tribunal.

Telangana [India], Oct. 26 : Condemning the deadly Quetta terror attack which claimed 60 innocent lives, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday issued a stern warning to Pakistan to stop using terrorism as a state policy as it was nothing but suicidal, adding Islamabad is becoming the victim of the same because of its engagement with such outfits.

Addressing a presser here, the Union Minister strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the police academy and recalled how the Taliban had made a similar attack in a government hospital in Quetta.

FSSAI to set new guidelines of Food and Supplement for Direct Selling Industry

New Delhi [India], Oct 25 : Celebrating a successful journey of two decades the Indian Direct Selling Association (IDSA) commemorated a gala event where Pawan Kumar Agarwal CEO, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India said that the new standards of food supplements are in the final stage of notification and will be shortly notified post Government approval.

"About 60 percent of the Industry players deal in food products. There have been concerns raised by the Industry players, especially in some of the states. FSSAI is trying to find sustainable solutions to some of these problems," said Agarwal.

Ola unveils new features to simplify cab booking, boarding experience

New Delhi [India], Oct 26 : Taxi aggregator Ola has launched two brand new tech features to further enhance cab booking and boarding experience.

The 'Just in Time' feature sends real-time smart notifications to users, at the instant when a cab becomes available or when peak pricing for user's desired cab category ends.

Ola has also rolled out 'Rich Notifications' on its app, which help users track their booked ride through real-time Push Notifications.

India likely to double its startup base by 2020, says Nasscom-zinnov start-up report

New Delhi [India], Oct 26 : Amidst the popular belief of the Indian startup ecosystem's slowdown, India continues to harbor the third largest start-up base, marginally behind the UK as per the NASSCOM-ZINNOV start-up report titled "Indian Start-up Ecosystem Maturing - 2016".

The report further states that the ecosystem is poised to grow by an impressive 2.2X to reach more than 10,500 start-ups by the year 2020.

Alcohol mixed with energy drink causes similar risk as cocaine

WahingtonD.C. [US], Oct. 26 : Drinking highly caffeinated alcoholic beverages trigger changes in the adolescent brain, similar to taking cocaine, and the consequences last into adulthood, according to a recent research conducted at Purdue University.

Lead researcher Richard van Rijn looked at the effects of highly caffeinated energy drinks and highly caffeinated alcohol in adolescent mice.

These alcohol studies cannot be performed in adolescent humans but changes seen in mouse brains with drugs of abuse have been shown to correlate to those in humans in many drug studies.

These energy drinks can contain as much as 10 times the caffeine as soda and are often marketed to adolescents.
