Channel Five HD version to feature in BSkyB

Channel-Five-LogoIn a bid to maximise the consumer offerings Channel five has released its first high-definition channel, which encloses an agreement with BSkyB.

According to Channel Five, which is running short of finances, it had plans to launch the HD version by 2012 on Freeview. With this current move, it would fasten the path by July and the users might be able to view their favourites on Sky's satellite service.

Bing reasons for being ‘blue’

A report from Microsoft suggested that the Bing underwent a number of options in its development stage for suitable colours and eventually featured blue, which was opted by users.

It was further stated by the company's Experience Manager, Paul Ray, that the company spent a humongous $80 million in finalising the exact tone of the colour.

Microsoft Office 2010 to hit Indian markets in June

It would be available both for the business usage and consumers. Users of MS Office across the globe are eagerly waiting to use this application suite. This version of Office was expected to carry web applications and file sharing features.

Xerox Corporation opens its Innovation hub in India

Petrol prices touch 16-month high

According to the data given by Australian Institute of Petroleum, the price of unleaded petrol was $1.22 at the end of February. The price of the same has increased by 16 cents per litre to become $1.38 since the end of last month. And if the international crude prices are factored in, this is expected to go even higher. Price of crude has doubled in the international market in recent few months.

APRA seeks more control over conglomerates

APRA-LogoIn a discussion paper released by The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA), it has asked for more regulatory control over conglomerates. It is seeking dramatic broadening of its supervisory mandates in order to keep an eye on the doings of the big companies.

The regulator is eyeing for the financial conglomerates, in particular, something which is not yet a part of its work area.

The discussion paper has asked that Level 3 supervisory framework be included in the list where Level 1 and 2 are already existent.
