Posco to set up plant worth Rs 25,000 crore in Jharkhand jointly with SAIL

POSCO-SAIL-LogoPosco is looking to set up a new project in Jharkhand. The South Korean steel giant Posco is expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding soon with the Steel Authority of India.

Though, in Orissa it is still facing lot of trouble in setting up its 12 MT steel plant at Paradeep. The Rs 54,000 crore project has been delayed in Orissa. Still the company is eying for fresh investments in a separate location.

AGL to sell pipeline to APA

AGL-EnergyOn Friday, energy company, AGL Energy Limited (AGK) said that it has signed an agreement with APA Group (APA) to sell its Berwyndale Wallumbilla Pipeline ("BWP") pipeline. The money raised through this sale would be A$82.6 million.

As part of the agreement, AGL has also entered into a 17-year Gas Transportation Agreement with APA group. This too, is in relation with BWP.

AGL has claimed that it will lead to proceeds of $2 million after the deduction of transaction costs. This, however, is exclusive of taxes.

1.2 million Jobs at stake for net piracy

European-UnionA huge number of jobs are at stake due to an increase in piracy in the industry of music, film, TV, software and other creative firms.

European Union said 1.2 million jobs were in peril as piracy looked to snatch more than £218 billion revenue from the creative industries by 2015, unless regulators stem the flow.

According to 2008 census, the creative industries contributed €860 billion to the EU's GDP - almost 7% - and they employed 6.5% of the EU workforce, which was close to 14 million people.

Recycle or pay fine, says UK government

RecycleA piece of information, which came straight from the UK's Environment Secretary stated that recyclable items such as paper cards, food, garden waste and plastics would have to undergo recycling, decaying or burning.

It is believed that the black bins, which are currently in use in the UK, would no longer be in use and they would be replaced by recycling containers including slop buckets for food.

The local government association earlier said that if it has to put these measures in use, it would need to spend an extra £1.1 billion, and the government should be prepared for the same.

Channel Five HD version to feature in BSkyB

According to Channel Five, which is running short of finances, it had plans to launch the HD version by 2012 on Freeview. With this current move, it would fasten the path by July and the users might be able to view their favourites on Sky's satellite service.

Bing reasons for being ‘blue’
