Bajaj holding picks up stake in Force Motors

BajajBajaj Holding Company limited, the flagship company of the Bajaj Group has recently purchased a stake in Firodia Group promoted Force Motors. According to the data provided to the Bombay Stock Exchange, Bajaj Holding bought 405,000 shares in the Pune-based light, medium and heavy duty trucks and buses makers in a block deal worth a whopping Rs 14.20 crore.

AT&T picks up an 8% stake in Tech Mahindra for $197 million

ATT-logoUnder a recent announcement made by the fourth-largest IT Company in the country, AT&T has picked up an 8% stake in the IT major, Tech Mahindra for a whopping $1197 million.

While AT&T is one of the largest clients of Tech Mahindra along with BT, the company purchased the stock in an off-market deal, according to the information provided to the stock exchanges.

The amount of deal is still not specified but the calculations are being made on the basis of the closing price of the day of the deal i. e. Rs. 911.85. AT&T has bought a mind-boggling 9.87 million shares in the IT major.

Air India may get an expatriate COO soon

After Tata Motors announced the posting of Carl-Peter Forster as its Group CEO, it's now the turn of the government-owned troubled air carrier Air India to hunt for a saviour.

Notably, the mandate for the candidate is to work closely with the captain-in-charge, Arvind Jadhav and plan a turnaround in a period of three years.

Hyundai may go for another price hike

Hyundai-LogoIndia's second largest automaker and the largest exporter of passenger cars, Hyundai Motors India has recently hinted that the auto major may announce another round of price hike in the Indian market following the BSIV implementation.

While the impact of expected to range between Rs. 4,000-5,000, the company believes that it will not pass on the entire burden on to the shoulders of the Indian consumer. This hike will be the second after the one announced following the 2% rollback of the excise duty in the Union Budget.

Automakers may suffer a muted March

AutomakersWhile the auto majors in the Indian market have been riding on the best growth phase ever enjoyed by the sector, but the growth may hit a roadblock when the companies will release their unit sales figures for March 2010.

In fact, the rising excise and interest rate hikes were able to lure consumers towards the showrooms in February taking their sales to record high but now since the hikes are in place, experts believe that the companies may find them in a catch 22 situation.

EA pulls out Starbreeze title

EA is accredited about being the owner of popular games like Medal of Honour, Need for Speed, The Sims, Command & Conquer et al.

The brand has been dropped since the company is planning to launch another popular series known as Borne franchise.

The Chronicles of Riddick studio, which was showcasing the two projects for EA, has reportedly confirmed that it is no longer continuing its work on the second project with EA and it has been discontinued.
