Researchers at Johns Hopkins University have identified nerve cells associated with mice feeding behaviors. They said that the findings can possibly result in development of new techniques to fight obesity among human beings. Obesity has become a major issue in developed and developing countries. Johns Hopkins research team is confident that control over signals in brain to control food consumption, would be one of the easiest ways to control diet.

Researchers have discovered the newly identified brain cells helping in portion control that tells the animals when to stop eating. Many people who suffer from obesity, eat more calories than they can burn during their daily activity. This leads to accumulation of fats in body and leads to many serious health issues.

Rarely seen bloodstream infection Elizabethkingiam identified in Michigan resident

The Michigan health department said that quite uncommon bloodstream infection Elizabethkingiam, which has made dozens of people ill in Wisconsin since November, has been confirmed in a Michigan resident.

On Thursday, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services said that the older adult, who had underlying health conditions, has died due to the infection. No other information was given regarding the victim. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services has seen 54 cases.

In a statement, the Wisconsin agency said that most of the patients suffering from the infection were 65 or above, and all of them have had a history of minimal one underlying deadly illness.

Pennsylvanian organic farm is held responsible for listeria outbreak

The listeria outbreak in recent years has been associated with Miller's Organic Farm in Bird-In-Hand, Pennsylvania. The raw milk sold by the farm to people who were drinking unpasteurized milk, could have been the cause of infection. The cases of listeria infection have been reported since 2014. However, the cause was discovered only after when two patients got sick from the bacteria and one of them died.

Most recent outbreak of disease includes one case from California and another from Florida and the latter one died. The Pennsylvanian organic farm was held responsible for causing infection by The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday.
