New Technology Could Take Over Pacemaker Batteries
According to a recent report, it has been revealed that the pacemaker batteries might soon be replaced by platinum based biological fuel cells. These cells derive their energy from the oxygen as well as glucose in the body of the person that could serve as a better option for the purpose.
This has been revealed by a group of German scientists who are hoping to create a system that can provide a flow of power that is inexhaustible and they have been looking to suffice the need for replacing the use of surgical batteries in the medical implantations.
It was revealed by Dr. Sven Kerzenmacher that the technology of Applied Microsystems Technology shall work for the betterment of one and all.
He has been awarded the prize for his work in the year 2011 and the university revealed that the researchers are still on the lookout for the best possible technology for the supply of medical Microsystems using electric energy.
"In the future, systems equipped with these fuel cells could be supplied with power by way of a continuous electrochemical reaction between glucose and oxygen from the tissue fluid”, the researchers claim.
