MRPL & Shell Enters 4-Year Petrol, Diesel Supply Pact
New Delhi: For supplying petrol and diesel, Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) has signed up a four-year agreement with Shell India Marketing Private Ltd. The products comprise all grades of MS and HSD grades.
According to MRPL’s press release the contract is extendable by another two years.
R Rajamani, MRPL Managing Director and Surinderdeep Singh, Shell India Managing Director signed the deal in New Delhi in the company of MRPL Chairman R S Sharma and Chairman of Shell Group of Companies in India Vikram Singh Mehta.
While lecturing on the occasion, R S Sharma, MRPL Chairman said this contract strengthens the connection between the two companies and adjusts to the business idea of ONGC group of companies to line up with the top companies in the world.
In addition the business facets of the contract, MRPL will stand to benefit from the wealthy experience of Shell in product management and allocation and set worldwide benchmarks in performance.
The new deal which will become operational from October 2007 comprehends not only fuel supply but also infrastructure allocation and hospitality and teamwork on health, security, safety and ecological management processes and patterns.
The other senior officials present on the occasion included MRPL Director (Finance) L K Gupta, AVP (Marketing) Vanita Kumar, Director (Human Resources) Dr A K Balyan, Director (Offshore) N K Mitra, Director (Exploration) D K Pande and Director (Technical & Field Services) U N Bose from ONGC, Vice President (Supply) of Shell Eastern Petroleum Limited in Singapore Cesar Romero, General Manager of Shell International Petroleum Company Limited in London Wael Sawan and others.
At present, Shell India is lifting up almost all of their fuel requirements from MRPL since 2004 under a product supply pact valid till October 2007.
