Recently, SMS service by Google was introduced dubbed as SMS search. The users can avail a number of services by simply sending an SMS with designated keywords to the number 9773300000. The services include ATM locations, booking a cab or getting the latest cricket match scores.  

A feature in the service by which the user can come to know about the latest cricket scores, requires him to type “cricket” or even “cri” and then send it to the above mentioned number. The service will thereafter send SMS including the latest scores of the match. Likewise those who want to know about the stock quotes can send the “company name quote” as an SMS while those wanting the latest news can send “news” as an SMS. 

Moreover, there is also another feature in the service which would allow the users to search for local businesses. To trace an example, an SMS “restaurants shivaji nagar Bangalore” can be sent, following which an SMS containing the list of the names of all the restaurants in that area will be received by the sender. The latest service by Google would be available in 34 cities in the country that include Mumbai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Kanpur, Chennai, Delhi. 

The users, via this service can also obtain information on Indian Railways with regards to PNR status, train availability, timings and route and also get updates on flight timings, movie show times, weather, horoscope and even word definitions, weight conversions and currency conversions. 

The service will cost normal SMS rates and as of now is available on both GMS and CDMA networks
