The Sensex opened the week on a bearish note after JP Morgan slashed its profit outlook for the fiscal year ending March 2010 for HDFC Bank, ICICI and Axis Bank by between 10% to 30%.
India’s benchmark index, Sensex, saw volatile movements all through the week. But, value buying by investors in a few blue-chips and banking stocks together with short-covering by operators pull the Sensex in the positive zone helping it to cross the 9,000 mark.
The Delhi High Court has cleared the release of Bollywood movie ‘Sorry Bhai,’ lifting the stay after its makers settled to remove a controversial song.
The film was planned to be released Friday (Nov 28).
The Delhi High Court on Wednesday stayed the release of the film till December 8 after singer Rabbi Shergill registered a petition alleging that one of the songs in the film was copied from his album ‘Avengi Ja Nahi’, which was released in July 2008.
