A new study has suggested that Down's Syndome in a child might one day be treatable before the birth of the child, in the womb itself.

Researchers have based their claims on an experiment on mice. In the experiment they injected two key nerve-protecting chemicals into pregnant mice with Down's pups and found that the offspring turned out to be free of these problems.

The world's largest handset maker, Nokia, today unveiled its first touch screen phone at Rs 19,999 in India and also announced the launch of its 'Beta' music store. "India has 30 million music handset owners and with the launch of this new phone from the company's platform will further increase that number," said Nokia Managing Director (India) Shiv Kumar while talking to reporters in Delhi.

Britain has extended a helping hand towards India in fighting terrorism. British Prime Minister Gordon Brown said on Thursday that Britain is sending police experts to India to help investigators probe the Mumbai attacks.

"We're sending police emergency teams that are well versed in dealing with terrorism," he said, adding that he was "shocked and outraged" by the attacks. Brown strongly condemned the Mumbai attacks. He sent messages to the Indian Prime Minister saying that the "outrageous attacks" will be met with a "vigorous response."

BJP candidate from Prithvipur assembly segment Of Madhya Pradesh and two-term MLA, Sunil Naik was shot dead allegedly by the brother of Congress candidate contesting from the same constituency.

Naik was shot in the neck by Congress MLA Brijendra Singh Rathore's brother Yashpal Singh Rathore in the Naya Khera area of the constituency.
