Speaking on this, an elated Bhutia said, “I feel honoured, I feel humbled.”

“It was great leading India to the AFC Challenge Cup title. Overall it has been a very productive year,” Bhutia said.

ICC Hold Talks With ICLFormer BCCI president and the current ICC Vice-President Sharad Pawar along with ICC president David Morgan and CEO Haroon Lorgat met rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL) chief Subhash Chandra in New Delhi on Monday evening.

ICL wants ICC to recognize it as an official league. From the very beginning, the BCCI had adopted a hard-line approach against the ICL, barring Indian cricketers associated with the league from accessing even their local college grounds. It also used its significant influence within the ICC to ensure other national boards imposed similar bans on ICL cricketers and officials.

Government Increases Efforts To Check ‘Bird Flu’ Eruption

The administration has strengthened its efforts to put a control over the recent “bird flu” (or avian influenza) epidemic in West Bengal as well as Assam.

As per the report issued today by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the steps taken by the government in order to verify the epidemic in West Bengal include deployment of 328 animal health workers who have achieved culling of a total of about 32,000 poultry birds up till now.

The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India, notified the bird flu eruption in Englishbazar block in Malda region of West Bengal earlier this month.

Moreover, the early announcement of the flu in Assam came on 27 November in Hajo block of Kamrup area.

Mallya said, “There has been some misinterpretation of a statement issued by my Bangalore office. The Bangalore IPL team is not for sale and neither do we seek to transfer a majority of our current players.”

Malegaon Case: Three More Army Men Under ScannerTwo non-commissioned officers and one junior commissioned officer of the Indian Army are being named by the Anti-Terrorism team in connection with the Malegaon blast case.

Along with Lt Colonel Purohit, one of the prime accused in the case, they have been rounded up for their links.

The three men were working at the Military Intelligence Unit or Liaision Unit in Deolali in Maharashtra, where Purhohit was posted a year ago. In Mumbai the interrogation is being held in the presence of the Army officers.
