JISL Wins Order Worth Rs 27 Crore From Europe
Country’s largest processor of fruits and vegetables, Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd (JISL) announced that it has won an order worth Rs 270 million (27 crore) to supply dehydrated onions to Europe in the calendar year 2009.
While commenting on this, Mr. Ashok Jain (Vice chairman, Jain JISL) said, "This is the single largest order for our dehydrated onion and vegetables division. We have developed high-solid onion varieties, which are helping Indian farmers to produce more and in turn allowing us to give what the International market expects."
JISL, Jalgaon based multinational organization is considered as one of the chief supplier of many food brands in the world market. The company processes more than 3,50,000 tonnes of fruits and vegetables per annum in its state of the art food processing facilities.
JISL also boasts for being the only company in the organized sector that deals with nearly 40 per cent of the total exports of dehydrated onions from India. Besides this, the company employs more than 4,000 farmers to produce fruits and vegetables on contract farming and buy back arrangement.
