CBI Officer Who Handled Important Cases In Bengal Arrested

CBI sources said that the CBI officer, who investigated the Tapasi Malik murder case in Singur, was arrested, on Sunday for taking bribe from an accused in a murder case.

Partho Sarathi Bose, DSP, Special Crime Branch of CBI, was arrested in front of an electronics shop in Ultadanga, in north Kolkata, by a six-member CBI Anti Corruption branch team which had come from Delhi.

The sources said that Bose was arrested while taking a bribe of Rs 50,000 from Avtar Singh,  an accused in the murder of a Directorate of Revenue Intelligence officer Tarun Dutta.

A complaint was lodged this year by Singh, in December , that Bose was demanding money from him. A trap was there after laid.

SRK Owned Red Chilles To Enter The World Of TV ProductionThe King Khan aka the Bollywood legend Shahrukh Khan owned Red Chillies is all set to launch a TV production house.

It is learnt that Red Chillies is making an investment in a number of programs for the small screen.

Commenting over the company’s strategy, an executive said, “We are in the process of setting up our TV division and forming a serious business plan. We are in talks with several entertainment channels for making TV software. In addition, we expect to announce several agreements with various channels for developing shows.”

Student Intrudes Into Bangalore Army Camp, Shot Dead

A 20 year old, first year student of Baldwin College, was shot dead early in the morning on Sunday when he intruded into the Flag Staff House in Bangalore.

Army guards shot him as they thought him to be a terrorist when he entered a Brigadier's residence and there after tried to flee.

The student, identified as Mohammad Mukarram, was drag racing with some of his friends on MG Road when the police chased them away.

Mukarram ran and entered the Flag Staff House.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) , BK Singh,  said that the student did not surrender when asked to do so by the sentries and they thus fired three rounds.

Police said that Mukarram was taken to a hospital but he succumbed to his injuries.
