Keeping in mind the regular complaints of the Indian users regarding the slow speed of dial-up and broadband connections, Telecom regulator TRAI has decided that regulation should be kept in place in order to make sure that connections are provided by the internet service providers (ISPs) only on the capacity of traffic they can carry.

According to UNICEF’s recent report, “Uttar Pradesh is the most dangerous state of the country for a women to give birth to a child.” Health services are not good in the state and the state has high rate of death of mother during childbirth there.

In Uttar Pradesh maternal death rate is 1:42 whereas in Kerala it’s just 1:500. Around 1/3 of all maternal deaths in India are reported from UP alone. Main causes of high maternal and neonatal deaths are inadequate nutrition, lack of birth spacing and less reproductive health care.

Asiya Andrabi, head of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, sent a legal notice to Rahul Dholakia demanding that she should first see the script of movie Lamha. Reports claim that Bipasha Basu's role in Lamhaa portrays the life of a woman Kashmiri separatist leader Asiya Andrabi.

The notice says: "As Asiya is a political personality and follower of Islam, she doesn't want to be portrayed by any actress in the movie who is incompatible with her virtues."

Automobile giant, Bajaj Auto posted 22.43 per cent decline in net profit for the quarter ended December 2008. Its net profit stands at Rs 166 crore as against Rs 214 crore in the same period last year.

Decline in vehicle sales and tight liquidity conditions contributed to the decline in profit for the quarter under consideration.

Company's turnover declined 15.84 percent and currently stands at Rs 2,141 crore. It sold 493,748 units of vehicles with 31 per cent decline as compared to 713,135 units sold in the same period last year.
