Boycott of J-K Assembly polls: Geelani

Srinagar, Mar 17: Hurriyat Conference (Geelani) Chairman Syed Ali Shah GeelaniHurriyat Conference (Geelani) Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani has urged people of Jammu and Kashmir not to participate in the forthcoming State Assembly polls.

"It is not necessary that you call rallies, but run a door-to-door campaign against participating in elections. The people who will seek your vote will give a call for freedom and will also say that we want freedom from India. This is just a gimmick. The one who will participate in the election is an agent of India and has nothing to do with freedom," said Geelani.

Geelani was addressing party workers here for the first time after spending three months in New Delhi for treatment.

The six-year term of the Jammu and Kashmir State Assembly ends in October this year. (ANI)
