Lahore, Jan. 10 : Authorities in Pakistan have put the name of Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, in the list of leaders belonging to terror outfits.

The Punjab Police have included the name of Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, along with four other Jamaat -ud -Dawa (JuD) leaders in a list of leaders of banned organizations, the Daily Times reported.

Saeed's name also featured in the list of terrorists which India handed over to Pakistan for extradition. The Indian list included names of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, and Masood Azhar. Azhar is the main suspect in organizing an attack on the Indian parliament in 2001. He was freed in exchange for the release of hostages on a hijacked Indian Airlines passenger (IC-814) plane in 1999.

Lahore, Jan. 8 : Controversy doesn't seems to leave Shoaib Akhtar; just when it seemed that he was on his way back to the playing arena, another one is in the making after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) gave him a central contract despite a court case against him being still pending, and his long standing involvement in indiscipline and fitness issues.

Former players and cricket officials have openly criticized the PCB for giving Akhtar a contract in the `A' category.

Lahore, Jan 7 : The Lahore High Court (LHC) Registrar’s Office has fixed the hearing of a petition that seek directions for the government to stop issuing a coin with the image of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

The hearing will be held on January 13 as an objection case, the Daily Times reports.

Earlier, the office had returned the petition with the objection that the Islamabad High Court was the proper forum to file this petition.

The petitioner, Asim Bhatti, submitted that such a coin would set a precedent for future governments to issue coins with images of their party leaders.

Lahore, Jan 7 : Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ijaz Butt has reiterated that Pakistan's priority is to host Australia's tour in their home country, but admitted that a neutral venue for the series remains a possibility.

Ijaz also said that he and chief operating officer Salim Altaf had not visited the facilities in Kuala Lumpur last week scotching reports that they had inspected the ground following a meeting at the Asian Cricket Council headquarters.

Lahore, Jan 7 : Terror outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba's frontal organisation, the Jamaat-ud-Dawa has warned that Pakistan is making a `big mistake' by acting against it.

"The ban by the United Nations Security Council was one-sided; we were not heard by the Security Council. They didn't hear our clarification," Abdullah Muntazir, a spokesperson for the Dawa, told an Indian news channel.

"What the UN has done is just on the basis of what the Indian media has reported," the Daily Times quoted Muntazir, as saying.
