Lahore, Jan. 15 : Banned Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Asif will be in New Delhi today to resolve some `financial issues' with the Delhi Daredevils, the team he represents in the Indian Premiere League (IPL).

"I am going to Delhi to try and sort out some financial issues with the Daredevils," The Daily Times quoted Asif, as saying.

Accompanied by his lawyer, Asif rejected the notion that his visit to India is in connection with the hearing regarding his case in the doping scandal during the first season of the IPL in April last year.

Lahore, Jan 14 : Former Pakistan Test batsman Mohammad Yousuf has slammed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for their subservience to the Indian Cricket Board, particularly in their ongoing policy of life bans on ICL players.

He has called on all cricket boards to resolve the issue and restore normalcy, especially in Pakistan, which has lost several cricketers to the ICL.

"I just say the PCB should take its own independent decision. It should not toe the line of the Indians," the Daily Times quoted Yousuf, as saying.

Lahore, Jan 14 : Former Pakistan Test batsman Mohammad Yousuf has again launched a stinging attack on the current skipper Shoaib Malik and the selectors for not treating him with enough respect.

He again called into question Malik's qualifications for the captaincy.

"Tell me on what grounds did they decide I was not fit for Twenty20 cricket? What were the criteria for deciding this?" Yousuf asked.

"Tell me how did Malik deserve to be the captain? How can you make a player a captain who is not certain of a place in the national Test or one-day team."

Lahore, Jan. 14 : In an apparent damage control exercise after the sacking of the National Security Advisor, Mehmood Ali Durrani, the Pakistan government is seriously thinking of doing away with the post in the country.

"The government is considering abolishing the post of adviser to the Prime Minister on national security after the sacking of Mehmood Ali Durrani," the Daily Times quoted a private television channel, as saying.

"Although several names are circulating as potential contenders for the office, the government may just do away with the post altogether," the channel said.

Lahore, Jan 14 : President Asif Ali Zardari has said that the resolution of all outstanding issues between India and Pakistan is vital for durable peace in the region, and called for a resumption of the composite dialoguethat was broken off after the terrorist attacks in Mumbai in November last year.

Zardari expressed these views during a lunch hosted for TERI University Director General Dr RK Pachauri at the Presidency, the Daily Times reported.

Lahore, Jan. 13 : Former Pakistan President General. Parvez Musharraf has said that he will not leave Pakistan and settle down in some other country.

"I am not one of those "who make a deal and run," the Daily Times quoted Musharraf, as saying on a private television channel.

Musharraf, who is on a visit to the United States, commenting on the recent rise in tension between India and Pakistan said that any offensive move by the Indian side will be dealt strongly by Pakistan.

"Pakistan is capable of giving a befitting reply to any Indian aggression" Musharraf said.
