Dabur Share Price Could Reach Rs 515: Axis Securities Remains Positive on FMCG Major

Axis Securities has maintained a Buy rating on Dabur India, though it trimmed its target price to Rs 515 from Rs 550, still implying 19% upside from the current market price of Rs 433. The brokerage's July 30 first-quarter update shows consolidated revenue grew 10.6% year-on-year to Rs 3,764 crore, matching estimates, while profit after tax beat forecasts, rising 15% to Rs 591 crore. Hair and personal care led growth at 12.3%, and the international business rebounded 15.5% despite West Asia disruptions. Axis Securities cut its FY27 and FY28 earnings estimates by 4% and 9%, respectively, citing caution around the region's conflict.

Dabur India: Profit Beats Estimates, But Axis Securities Trims Target to Rs 515 on West Asia Caution

Dabur India Ltd. turned in a first quarter strong enough to beat profit expectations, yet Axis Securities still trimmed its price target — a reminder that even solid results can carry a more cautious outlook attached. In a July 30 result update, analysts Suhanee Shome and Urmi Shah maintained a Buy rating on the consumer-goods maker but lowered their target price to Rs 515 a share, down from Rs 550, citing uncertainty tied to the conflict in West Asia. Against a current market price of Rs 433, the revised target still implies roughly 19% upside. The company's market capitalization stands at approximately Rs 76,891 crore, per the report.

Revenue and EBITDA In Line, Profit Ahead of Forecast

Consolidated revenue climbed 10.6% year-on-year to Rs 3,764 crore, matching the brokerage's estimate of Rs 3,740 crore. EBITDA of Rs 741 crore, up 11% year-on-year, landed almost exactly on forecast, with margin improving 8 basis points to 19.7% on gross-margin expansion, a richer product mix and disciplined cost control. Profit after tax came in ahead of expectations at Rs 591 crore, up 15% year-on-year, beating the brokerage's Rs 583 crore estimate by roughly 1%. The domestic business grew a healthy 9.5%, powered by 5% underlying volume growth, while the international arm — which contributes 27% of consolidated revenue — rebounded 15.5% in rupee terms despite ongoing disruptions in West Asia.

International Business: Resilience Across a Volatile Region

Dabur's overseas operations delivered some of the quarter's more striking numbers despite operating in a genuinely difficult environment. Bangladesh grew 34.3%, Egypt rose 28.4%, Sub-Saharan Africa improved 28%, Turkey advanced 26.9%, and the United Kingdom business expanded 21.9%. Even the Middle East and North Africa region, at the center of the geopolitical disruption cited throughout the report, managed 8.6% growth despite war-related disruptions, which the brokerage described as reflecting resilience across markets. Management attributed the international rebound to proactive market interventions and agile execution rather than any easing of the underlying conflict.

"Dabur's long-term growth trajectory remains intact, and hence, we maintain our BUY rating on the stock; however, the company remains cautious regarding the uncertainty in the West Asia conflict, and hence we cut our FY27/FY28 estimates," the brokerage wrote.

Why the Target Came Down Despite the Beat

The math behind the lower target is straightforward: Axis Securities cut its revenue estimates for the current and following fiscal years by 1% and 3%, respectively, and trimmed EBITDA projections by 4% and 8%. Profit estimates fell further still, down 4% for FY27 and 9% for FY28, reflecting the brokerage's expectation that inflationary pressure — particularly costs tied to the Middle East — will take longer to ease than previously assumed. The valuation multiple itself was left unchanged at 42 times earnings, simply rolled forward to a June 2028 earnings base from the earlier March 2028 base, meaning the entire target reduction flows from lower profit forecasts rather than a more conservative multiple.

Rating and Target Price History

Date Rating Target Price (Rs)
Aug 1, 2025 HOLD 560
Sep 4, 2025 BUY 630
Oct 31, 2025 BUY 590
Jan 30, 2026 BUY 595
May 8, 2026 BUY 550

The steady step-down in target price across recent quarters reflects successive downward revisions to growth and margin assumptions, even as the Buy rating itself has held since September 2025.

Key Risks for Investors

Axis Securities flagged a single, concentrated risk to its estimates and target price: war-led inflation, a broader demand slowdown, and pressure on advertisement spending. Given that roughly a quarter of Dabur's revenue comes from international markets, and that the Middle East and North Africa region sits at the heart of current geopolitical tensions, the trajectory of that conflict remains the single biggest swing factor for whether the brokerage's now-more-conservative estimates prove accurate.
