Now, Pak ‘sharia’ chief wants Islamic rule over entire worldLahore, Feb. 18 : After inking a deal with the North West Frontier Province (NWFP) government for implementation of Islamic law in the Swat Valley, the Tehreek-e-Nifaz-e-Shariat Muhammadi (TNSM) chief Sufi Muhammad, has expressed his desire of implementation of a similar law over the whole world.

Expressing his hatred for people's rule, Muhammad said Islam does not have any mention of democracy or elections.

Pak IPL players seek compensation from ZardariLahore, Feb 17 : Four Pakistan cricketers whose contracts have been `suspended' by the Indian Premier League (IPL) have appealed to President Asif Ali Zardari to compensate them for the loss in earnings brought about by the government's decision to not allow them to travel to India to take part.

Though the federal sports ministry had allowed the players to travel across the border for the tournament, the Foreign Ministry barred them from doing so, reportedly over concerns about the players' security in India.

Pak Army says situation in Swat unsatisfactoryLahore, Feb 17: The Pakistan Army has said that the situation in Swat is not satisfactory and is ready abide by the deal between the North West Frontier Province Government and the Tehreek-e-Nifaz-e-Shariat Muhammadi (TNSM).

Inter-Service Public Relations spokesman Major General Athar Abbas said the military had been asked to back off, but it would only respond if attacked.

He said Swat situation was not satisfactory, but the government had adopted another strategy.

Qureshi says US will change drone attacks strategyLahore, Feb. 14 (ANI): Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that US President Barack Obama will soon announce America's revised strategy on drone attacks.

Qureshi told a British radio station that Pakistan had asked the US to immediately stop the drone attacks in its Tribal Areas.

He also said Pakistan had fully cooperated with the US in the war on terror, a private TV channel reports.

Meanwhile, a fresh US drone attack killed 16 persons and injured several others in Ladha area of South Waizirstan.

Pak’s FIA team interrogates Lakhvi, to grill Kasab’s parentsLahore, Feb. 14: Pakistan's Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has set-up a special investigative body to interrogate the nine suspects who have been arrested in connection with the Mumbai terror attacks.

According to The Daily Times, the committee headed by FIA Director General Tariq Khosa interrogated Lashkar-e-Toiba's (LeT) Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, alleged to have given training to the Mumbai attackers, on Friday.

The special investigative team is also planning to grill parents of Amir Ajmal Kasab, the lone surviving Mumbai terrorist.
