Lahore, Feb. 21 : The Pakistan International Airline (PIA) administration is headed for some big trouble as several religious leaders have come on stage to criticize it for its banning employees from having beards.

The leaders have termed the decision as a violation of the Constitution and an abuse of fundamental rights, The News reports.

Lahore, Feb. 20 : Premier Pakistan middle-order batsman Mohammad Yousuf is still non-committal to leave the Indian Cricket League (ICL) to get himself picked for the national team as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ijaz Butt had asked for.

"I have not thought about leaving the ICL till now although the board chairman felt this would be the easiest way for me to make a comeback to the Pakistan team," The Nation quoted Yousuf, as saying.

Lahore, Feb 20 : The government in Pakistan's Punjab province has closed down two NATO supply facilities at Attock and Mianwali over security related fears.

NATO forces got oil and food supplies via Mianwali and NATO contingents used to stop for meals and rest at the camp near Musa Khel. This private spot was closed down on Thursday on the orders of District Police Officer Akbar Nasir Khan.

The Punjab Government also cancelled a private deal for a new NATO supply terminal.

Lahore, Feb 20: Even though Pakistan has categorically denied the use of its airbases for carrying out attacks on tribal areas, Islamabad, the US, and other NATO member countries have had an "unwritten agreement" for the past three to five years to allow the CIA to fly unmanned drones out of airstrips located in the Pak-Afghan region.

"In the past week, speculation has mounted over the extent to which Pakistan was aware of such flights, amid evidence that at least some of the drones were being launched from airstrips in remote Pakistani regions," a senior NATO military official told CBS News.

Lahore, Feb. 19 : Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl chief Fazlur Rehman has said the sharia-deal between the NWFP government and the TNSM in Malakand division enjoyed the complete backing of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.

Fazl said the pact had been approved after a meeting of representatives of the NWFP government with President Zardari and Prime Minister Gilani, the Daily Times reports.

Earlier, the North West Frontier Province Government had signed a pact with Tehreek-e-Nifaz-e-Shariat Muhammadi leader Maulana Sufi Muhammad on the implementation of `sharia' in the Swat Valley's Malakand division.
