Faisalabad next on terror hit list: Pak IB ministerLahore, Apr. 7 : Pakistan Information and Broadcasting Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira has warned that Faisalabad could be next on terrorist's hit list.

Kaira said there are intelligence reports that the militants are planning to carry out attack in Faisalabad similar to Lahore and Islamabad.

He admitted that the state had no writ in Swat, and that the terrorists had better resources than Pakistan's intelligence agencies in the region.

Meanwhile, security has been beefed up, and a red alert has been sounded in Faisalabad following terror threat.

Ijaz insisted that the matches would go ahead as scheduled later this month, the Daily Times reported.

Mehsud’s friends in ISI help him escape attacks, capture

Baitullah MehsudLahore, Apr 6: Tehreek-I-Taliban Pakistan chief Baitullah Mehsud has been able to escape several attempts to kill and capture him because he has friends in the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency.

An “increasingly-emboldened” Mehsud has claimed credit for the several attacks in Pakistan and also for threatening to attack the US.

“Soon we will launch an attack in Washington that will amaze everyone in the world,” he said last week.

35 killed, 150 injured in a suicide attack in PakistanLahore, Apr. 5 : At least 35 persons were reportedly killed and over 150 others injured in a suicide attack on an Imambargah in Chakwal area of Pakistan’s Punjab province on Sunday.

The blast took place in a huge public gathering where over a thousand persons had assembled for an annual prayer, Majlis Aza.

The injured persons have been admitted to the District Headquarter Hospital. Releif and rescue work were going on in full swing till the news last filtered-in.
