Jharkhand CM appears before court for murder case

Jharkhand High Court to hear Raj Thackeray''s petition

Raj Thackeray Ranchi, Nov. 14 : The Jharkhand High Court is hearing a plea from Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) President Raj Thackeray to transfer a complaint case from a Jamshedpur court to Mumbai.

The petition had been filed last month after a case was filed against Thackeray in June this year for insulting religious beliefs.

Three policemen, one paramilitary person injured in blasts during voting in Chhattisgarh

CRPFRanchi, Nov. 14 : Four security personnel, including three policemen and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldier were injured in two separate blasts during the first phase of elections in Chhattisgarh on Friday.

The incidents took place in Maoist-infested Dantewada District. The policemen were injured in a landmine blast near Gorkha, as they were accompanying election officials to polling booths in Bhejji.

The second bomb explosion took place Chintalnar.

Six children die of food poisoning in Ranchi

RanchiRanchi/Bareli, Nov 14 : At least six children have died and over hundred have taken ill of suspected food poisoning in Ranchi.

Students of the Jharkhand Tribal Residential School in Baridih, which is about 35 kilometers from Ranchi, fell ill after consuming milk.

"We took milk and flaked rice. After some time we fell unconscious. People took us to the hospital," said Vishnu Bhagat, a student.

The students were taken to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) for treatment.

The condition of at least 30 children was said to be critical.

Jharkhand tribes facing Malaria deaths

Jharkhand MapKuramu (Pallamu) Jharkhand, Nov. 12 : Widespread ignorance, dependency on exorcism and witchcraft among tribes in Jharkhand’s Palamu district have become a major problem for people struggling against Malaria here.

Malaria has claimed over 24 lives and affected hundreds of others in Kuramu village under Chandwa Block of Latehar Division of State’s Palamu district.
