Maoist killed in Jharkhand gunfight

Chatra (Jharkhand), Oct 18 : A Maoist was killed during a gunfight between the CPI (Maoist) and its breakaway group, Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC), in Jharkhand''s Chatra District.

Tussar silk production in Jharkhand

JharkhandKharsawa (Jharkhand), Oct. 15 : Jharkhand’s Singhbhum District, which till recently produced cocoons for silk weavers in Bhagalpur area, has also started producing Tussar silk.

The experimental silk unit set up at Kharsawa Block in north Singhbhum District have proved to be a success.

The District administration of the Singhbhum has identified and allocated the tasks of production of silk. One is for the urban regions and the other in rural areas.

Jharkhand Armed Police worship ammunition during Durga Puja

JharkhandRanchi, Oct. 7 : Members of the Jharkhand Armed Police (JAP), especially those belonging to the Gorkha community, have a distinct way of worshipping during Durga Puja. Instead of the Goddess’ idol, these people worship their weapons.

Though people in general worship the idols of Goddess Durga on this occasion in makeshift temples or Pandals in different States, these people in Jharkhand worship their weapons as per Nepalese culture.

When thieves stumped Jharkhand deputy chief minister in State Assembly!

Ranchi, Sep. 21 : Sudhir Mahto, the Deputy Chief Minister of Jharkhand, was a furious and an embarrassed man on Friday after finding his personal belonging missing from the State Assembly, the building of the State Legislature.

“I really don''t know how should I react. Sometimes it seems so funny. How can I loose my bag that too from Assembly? It''s really shocking. I never expected that such kind of a thing can happen inside Assembly too. I lost four mobiles, around 10,000 rupees in cash and some documents," said Sudhir Mahto, the deputy Chief Minister.

The incident left one and all smiling and surprised.

Reliance Infrastructure Plans To Invest Rs 400 Billion In Jharkhand Unit

Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group company  Reliance Infrastructure has revealed its plan to invest Rs 400 billion to set up a steel plant with a capacity of 12 million tonnes in the eastern state of Jharkhand.

While commenting on the plan, Mr. K.K. Khandelwal, industry secretary of the Jharkhand state government, stated, “We have received the proposal from Anil Ambani Group. It is still under process.”

Reliance Infrastructure, formerly known as Reliance Energy, participates in telecoms, financial services, power and infrastructure, engineering and construction businesses.
