Satyam campus recruits fear uncertainty over their jobs

Hyderabad, SatyamHyderabad, Jan. 28 : The campus recruits of Satyam Computer Services Ltd., fearing that the fraud-hit company would not honour their offer letters, staged protest against the company here on Wednesday.

The fraud-hit Satyam has has hogged headlines since the first week of January after its founder Ramalinga Raju resigned as chairman, while admitting that company's profits had been inflated for years, and that the one billion dollars in cash mentioned in the account books did not exist.

Raju brothers, Srinivas bail plea dismissedHyderabad, Jan. 28 : A city court on Wednesday rejected the bail plea of Satyam''s tainted founder Ramalinga Raju, former managing director Rama Raju and former CFO Vadlamani Srinivas.

The hearing of separate petition related to the bail application and police custody of SRSR Holding general manager Gopala Krishna Raju is scheduled for Thursday.

Ramalinga Raju's held stakes in Satyam through SRSR Holding, which is promoted by Raju's family.

Ramalinga Raju, Rama Raju and Srinivas will remain in judicial custody till January 31.

Two Pricewaterhouse Coopers officials arrested in Satyam fraud case

Ramalinga RajuHyderabad, Jan. 25 : The Crime Branch of the Andhra Pradesh Police arrested two senior auditing executives of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) on Saturday here for their role in the multi-crore Satyam fraud.

PricewaterhouseCoopers was the company of auditors for Satyam Computers Services Limited and its role has been widely criticised for overlooking the manipulations mooted by B Ramalinga Raju, the founder and former Chairman of Satyam Computers.

Soon after their arrest, the PwC executives were sent to judicial remand till February 6.

Satyam had diverted billions of rupees from the company and inflated
the number of employees to withdraw cash, a public prosecutor said
Thursday according to news reports.

The prosecutor made the comments during a hearing of the police's
request for extension of custody of Satyam founder Ramalinga Raju and
the company's former chief financial officer Vadlamani Srinivas in a
court in the southern city of Hyderabad, PTI news agency reported.

Six-member Satyam board to meet for a third time todayHyderabad, Jan 22 : The six-member board of Satyam Computer Services, will begin a vital two-day meeting in Hyderabad today with the objective of appointing a Chief Executive Officer (CFO) and a Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

This will be the third meeting since the Company Law Board dissolved the previous board after exposure of a huge scam committed by accused Satyam promoter, B. Ramalinga Raju.

The appointment of the two key posts was originally planned to held in Mumbai but was shifted to Hyderabad.

Andhra Pradesh HC rejects ex-Satyam chief Raju''s revised petitionHyderabad, Jan 19 : The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday rejected a revision petition filed by Satyam Computer Services former Chairman B. Ramalinga Raju against his police custody.

The petition was dismissed by divisional bench comprising Justices Seethapathi and Swarupa Rani.

Ramalinga Raju, his brother Rama Raju and company''s Chief Financial Officer Vadlamani Srinivas moved the High Court this morning. They were formally taken into police custody for four days and were grilled by Crime Investigation Department (CID) sleuths.
